"To recycle is to inject new life into old, to begin a new cycle. Old is the hutong with their serene horizontal structure, new is the high-density, the productive energy of the population. Old is also the layout of the urban fabric that has evolved,the landscape of the mountains, the clouds and the earth that is dug. Old is also the silhouetted light capable of drawing the air, cut out in lattices.

New is also the new concept of public space being proposed, the integration of the population the urge to conserve. In their "Regenerate Restore Renew" Xisi Bei Exhibition, Beijing, China, nred architects want all of this to breathe as one in the project. To this end, their five chosen strategies are: Cultivated territories, Light particles, Mountains and landscapes, Itineraries and Creative centres themselves"
